hmmmm… underwhelmed!

the book wasn’t BAD! it was well written in an easy-to-read kind of way (but maybe not in a literary kind of way, which is more what i was expecting for some reason)

i was still very much into it until about halfway through. it started feeling like a novella that someone decided to pad out

also it was extremely heavy handed. i don’t really enjoy being hit over the head with things that i feel like i should be allowed to think about on my own. suggests a lack of trust in the reader that i do not appreciate

i did (mostly) enjoy reading it though! except the end, i did not like that ending lol

also i wouldn’t usually particularly relish finding a typo in a book but when a book is ABOUT publishing and it would literally be some of the characters’ job to fix this … sorry i was giggling!
