Despite being very rom-commy, this book has a lot of rich cultural descriptions. I think that’s my favorite thing about it.

This is the book version of the movie What a Girl Wants except it’s Asian and funnier. It gets surprisingly deep at times. The protagonist’s struggle with wanting to know her roots and where she came from will really resonate with a lot of readers.

It’s just that… I feel like something is missing. This book is so yassified; you can just tell that the author spends a lot of time on Twitter. It was a fun read, but not as fun as I expected it to be. I was just expecting more, I guess.
