Don't Let the Music Die by Annmarie Boyle

4.0

Y'all...I used to avoid 2nd Chance Romance, but I'm really starting to like them! And DON'T LET THE MUSIC DIE is a seriously good one!

When Avery and Matt are first thrown back together, after their break up 9 years ago, the Enemies vibe is STRONG! And you KNOW that I am always here for Enemies to Lovers. These two are pissed at each other and I loved every minute of it.

I loved Matt so hard! Even when pissed, Matt shows his Cinnamon Roll Hero deliciousness. His sweet moments surrounding Avery's anxiety issues will melt-your-heart. And his own back story and insecurities are a breath of fresh air I never see in romance these days.

I loved her Avery's quirks, her work ethic, and her care for her family. I loved the portrayal of her Anxiety Disorder. It was well-written and realistic. And you know I love a book that promotes Therapy!

As these two get closer and past secrets are revealed I had a bit of a hard time with the nature of the secret. Maybe I am an unfairly judgmental a**hole...? But it's a hard one to reconcile while still loving the character. That was why I removed a star from my rating. But, YOU might have no issue with her past so ignore me and read this book!!

I especially love the male friendships within the musical group at the heart of this series! They are supportive and talk to each other while their interactions remain completely believable. There is a decent amount of teasing that goes with their supportive moments. I love these guys and can't wait for future books about each of them.
