Reading this book felt like taking a vacation. Just drifting off far away from the madness that is life right now. It was like visiting with an old friend. Catching up with them after spending years apart. It was the much needed addition to some of my favorite books ever written.
I am so happy Jewel chose to tell Nate’s story ten years after Epoch left off. He deserved his own happy ending. This book introduced a whole new plethora of incredible characters. Morgan, Gracelyn, Gabe, & Mr. Hans - I loved each and every one of them. Morgan’s zest for life was addicting. She was so full of energy and she radiated love wherever she went. Gracelyn was so endearing in the new role she was thrust in. My heart broke for her and I found myself rooting for her at every turn. She truly deserved happiness. Gabe was a typical ten year old boy pretending not to care, but he gave you glimpses from time to time when you’d see his true heart. And sweet old Mr. Hans was the patriarch everyone desperately needed.
This book is a romantic comedy, but it’s so much more. It’s layered and it slowly builds. It lifts you up and tears you down only to lift you back up again. It’s real life & real life is both messy & beautiful. I highly recommend it!
