Exposed by Jean-Philippe Blondel

5.0

Jean-Phillipe Blondel is fast becoming one of my favorite contemporary authors and Exposed is a novel of inspiration, intimacy, and nostalgia. An aging teacher who poses for an ex-student, now a famous artist -- an experience which plunges them both back into the past, fractures form in the facades they show to the world, releasing memories back into the air. The juxtaposition of art with sexuality, aging, and finding oneself again, or perhaps for the first time, was so subtly done and moving.
