The Tenant by Katrine Engberg

3.0

The Tenant is the first book in the Korner and Werner series by Katrine Engberg. I came across it during my search for Nordic mysteries.

A woman is found murdered in an apartment building and Korner and Werner are assigned to the case. It is discovered that the landlady of the building is part of a novelist group that shares stories they are in the process of writing. And, as it turns out, the murder seems to be based on one of her stories.

For some reason, I had a very hard time getting interested in the story. I felt that it was going way too slowly and I really didn’t like the characters. It took about a third of the way in to finally enjoy the book.

I think this is a series I’ll continue reading. Even though Korner and Werner don’t seem likable to me, maybe that will change in the next book.
