This is my least favourite in the series, my biggest complaint is how prominent the love triangle is and the fact I wish Meg got more development in her powers. She never gets a chance to grow her abilities and relies on them to show up when it’s desperately needed. I know this changes in the books to come (this is a reread) but it’s what I noticed in this book that caused me to feel frustrated

- the plot is so well thought out and the execution is wonderful, it’s really the driving force in this whole series. Having such an interesting and unique plot is what pulls me into the story and into the lives of the characters
- Megan is such a pathetic character in this book, her reliance on others and inability to do literally anything is astounding. She just goes along for the ride and is in a love triangle
- if you know me, I fucking hate live triangles with the fury of 1000 storms. And this book had one in full force, but it’s so painfully obvious who she will chose so it’s so frustrating to read! Poor puck
- puck could be such a well written and developed character but he is dumbed down to a lovesick character. It’s sad and cringe, Meg is so obviously not in love with puck the same way she is with ash SO MOVE ON MY MAN. Also, take a shot every time he calls Meg princess, you’ll die.
- I don’t really understand why she loves Puck. I get why for ash, they go through a lot and are there for each other, they have that instant chemistry. But I think she “loves” puck because he is simply there. She couldn’t have Ash so she tried to drown out her love for him into puck, but the fact that she keeps trying with him when she isn’t over her relationship with Ash is sucky and reminds me of (vampire academy spoilers) when rose played adrian.

I am excited for iron queen because I remember that being one of my favourites so I faint wait for the special edition to be released!!
