Normally I really enjoy Cutter’s books, but the abuse towards the MC’s son was disturbing for me in this case and I couldn’t do it. Maybe I’m just getting too close to having children now but it made my skin crawl! From what I read of the book I loved the Jack Torrance vibes and the spooky bad guy Hank, and one scene in particular almost made me puke (the fingernail, yikes). May pick up and try again in the future.
