This book, compared to the first of the series, gives me at least a glimpse of hope that what I've read so far isn't rape but a sexual fantasy. I would love it if the slaves spoke more of their own perception of all that happens to them, because without their consent, without a proper framework that clearly and undoubtedly communicates to me - the reader- that this is a sexual fantasy, I am very much scared to read this series. In this world from Anne Rice, I still feel unsafe.
