Holy damn what a book. I was hooked pretty fast with the beautiful story of Rhys and Steffi.

We don’t always get a chance to look at the world from someone else’s viewpoint, let alone understanding it in the separation from the hearing and the deaf communities.

Seeing Steffi’s anxieties and panic attacks on the screen was so vulnerable and heart wrenching. She’s a teenager dealing with so much and putting so much pressure on herself. Rhys is adapting to life in a new school and having to find a way in the hearing world. It’s such a beautiful story of loss and love and grief and struggle.

“With lightning, you’re never really sure if that’s what it was, it’s just a flash. Thunder, you know. You feel it.” - Such a beautiful sentiment and way to look at love.

Read the book. Just do it.
