You Shouldn't Have Come Here is the airbnb thriller by best-selling author, Jeneva Rose. At the risk of sounding a little like Scott, I found myself somewhat underwhelmed by this book.

I struggled to hate the characters and the characters I did hate were the ones who were completely innocent (I think?) and although that did get me questioning ALL the characters with much distrust and trying to figure out which one was the bad guy, I didn't really even know WHY I was trying to find a bad guy in the book in the first place. It was a little over 1/3 of the way through the book before anything came up that would cause any real suspicion. The author did a great job of adding some creepy events that served as a little potential foreshadowing and definitely served the vibes for a thriller. The dual POV of the two main characters served the set some tension and chemistry for a potential romance but it was built on distrust and I just couldn't allow myself to 'ship them. I somewhat wanted it but everything in me knew it was a bad idea from the beginning. I think for the reason the ending (no spoilers here) was not as satisfying as it could have been. because I am not sure if there was any real win or victory in the end. It does however give some angry feminist vibes and I would be here for that if I felt like there was more of a clear reason for her rage rather than a sense of deviance for the sake of deviance. Overall, it was a fun read but I had all sorts of feels about it when I finished reading.
