I saw this on a recently read pile for someone I trust and decided to dive in - and it is a delight! Definitely low stakes YA, full of intentional tropes, but also full of fun, smart and sassy characters you'll cheer for from start to finish! Highly enjoyable fantasy, will have to check out the rest of the series.
