The Perks of Being a Wallflower
by Stephen Chbosky
(4.5)
I related so much to Charlie throughout the book, he’s a wallflower and found a friend group whilst struggling a lot with mental health issues. At the end you discover why and I honestly didn’t see that one coming.I also really loved the way it was written, very different from what I usually read. Charlie is so loveable, he’s so honest and you get sucked into his mind.he doesn’t say much and let people do what they want with him without giving his opinion on anything just because ‘it will make them feel better’ , hence why Sam is ( after Charlie) my favourite character. She encourages Charlie to form his own opinions. I loved the passion with books and music and it felt nostalgic in some sort of way. This book shows that things have to get worse before they get better.
