I actually really enjoyed this book and am a bit sad to see that others don’t feel the same. It’s not a typical fantasy fae romance, instead it’s a book that tackles grief, feeling deeply ostracized, and manipulative relationships.
I loved how it seamlessly weaved in her daily life and interactions with her neighbors in a way that was realistic which I often find other books don’t tend to do as well or their non fantasy counterparts are just irrelevant to the story.
The only reason I can’t give it five stars is because I wish the ending was a bit more fleshed out and we had more time to see the dreamer change his perspective rather than a momentary switch. I also think it would’ve been nice if the end included how the dreamer got out of the situation just a bit more, did he get rid of the queen? Did he give her souls? Idk
Overall I enjoyed it and loved her interpretation of grief in the story and how it affected everything abt the character.
