This was a very average book. If I really like a book I can’t put it down, but this felt like a sludge at times to get through. I will say, I liked the first half better than the second, which seemed to drag.

I read the first book in this series and now this one and I feel like every though they’re supposed to be older than the characters in the first book, it felt more like high school age than college. I didn’t really feel their relationship, it just was like being told about it.

There was also a lot of times where you had to suspend belief in reality. Like the mmc getting drafted by 2 professional sports, nevermind in the same city. Or the fact that we’re meant to believe people don’t leave phone chargers in their cars at all times (I hate this plot device and it’s used far too often these days). And even if you believe he didn’t have a charger, every story sells them now, so if the mmc is gone half the day because of a road closure, he can go find a store to go into.
