It's no "I am pilgrim", as others have pointed out. But I went in already expecting that it wasn't going to be and I still found myself being invested until the end. It's a page turner, and yes the sci-fi elements are not as well thought out as they should be for a book ten years in the making, but if you look past that, it's still an enjoyable thriller.
