honestly, i dont know why i gave it 3 stars. it was boring, took me MONTHS to finish it, didn't get attached to characters at all and it was so slow. i got lost in the amount of characters this book has that by the time i finished it i didn't know who was who. i got so hyped up for the heist only for it to be so forgettable and nothing special at all. the romance and chemistry that everyone is talking about? none; felt forced even. it is not a bad book, i have to give it that, like i get why someone might like it, but it just isn't it for me. i looove fantasy, i grew up with it and mainly read that genre, but this just wasn't my cup of tea i guess. i also set up super high expectations for it because of its popularity and i was just utterly disappointed in the end. i tried to read the second book and gave it a chance because people said it is "so much better" but i dnf it. i might give it a reread at some point in my life and then we'll see what i think, but for now, i don't like it.

i would probably give it like 2-2.5 stars, but i'll leave it at 3 because, like i said, it is not a bad book.
