Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider
3.0

Meet Sadie and Lane, two teenagers banished to Latham Academy, a special hospital/school for teens suffering from a drug-resistant, potentially deadly and highly contagious strain of tuberculosis. When the story opens, Sadie has been a resident for more than a year, and she has a tight-knit friend group that knows which of Latham's rules they can break. Lane, however, has just arrived, and he is determined to stay on top of his AP homework so that when he recovers, he'll still be able to apply to the ivy league school of his choice.
Lane and Sadie bond over their uncertain futures, and make the most of their time at Latham. With their eclectic friends, they party in the woods, steal internet in the library, sneak off to town, and sell counterfeit items to their peers. They're sick, though, and despite the hope of a new miracle drug to cure them, recovery isn't guaranteed for any of them.
This book is a great choice for readers who loved "The Fault in Our Stars" and "Looking for Alaska." I rated it three stars because the story feels too "been-there-read-that."
