The Seventh Veil of Salome
by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
I’ve always been a huge fan of Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s writing. SMG completely leaves me in awe. She intertwined the Biblical myth of Salome with historical 1950s Old Hollywood beautifully. The story follows three characters: Salome, Nancy, and Vera (with the addition of other character perspectives sprinkled throughout the book). Despite Nancy and Vera’s timeline being centuries apart from Salome, SMG did a fantastic job in tying in their similarities. At the end, the reader can see how Vera was perfect for the role of Salome since she continues living without love. I am a Silvia Moreno-Garcia STAN and adore everything she does, and this book reinforced those feelings in me. I recommend this book to everyone!
