Stardust by Neil Gaiman

5.0

Neil Gaiman, master of the fairy tale, who comprehends that fairy tales are for adults as well as children. The trick, of course, is to bring out the child while charming the adult and it is a very difficult trick indeed. In the acknowledgments, Gaiman gives a welcome nod to Lord Dunsany and James Branch Cabell. It would be wonderful if readers charmed by Stardust would seek out the stories of those gifted writers who seem to have vanished in the mist.
