I enjoyed this book and reading about Ella Fitzgerald's life before making it big, something I knew very little about.
My least favorite part was the ending. Maybe it's true to history, but it didn't make for as good of a story. I just read 350 pages about how she loved to dance, would do absolutely anything for it, and then she throws it away to become a singer, because she has a better chance of being famous that way. Maybe that's how it really went I guess, obviously she's not famously known as a dancer -- it just didn't seem as genuine.
