The Dating Plan by Sara Desai

3.0

The Dating Plan is a really good selection if you love the trope of enemies to lovers as well as fake dating/engagement. It was a really easy read, I used it as a traveling book for my flights and I finished the novel quickly.

Daisy is quirky and lovable, and I really appreciated that she was unlike the "mold" of romance protagonists you usually see. She is a software engineer and a Desi woman, and her culture is shown beautifully throughout this story. Liam, the love interest, is perfectly imperfect, and I fell in love with him almost immediately. Their chemistry was there, and I really enjoyed seeing their seemingly clashing personalities come together and pair perfectly.

I didn't like the writing style at first, I felt in the beginning details concerning character building were basically thrown at you in a kind of obvious way that made it hard to immediately fall into this story, but it got better as the book went on. It was something that although I didn't personally really enjoy, it was easy to overlook and I continued to enjoy the story.

If you are new to the romance genre, or just love a modern love story with multicultural representation, this is definitely a book for you.
