Skulduggery Pleasant
by Derek Landy
I'm not sure what I expected from a book about a crime fighting skeleton, but I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It's hilarious and terrifying (in a good way) and hard to put down. Skulduggery is by far the most personable dead man you'll ever meet - lots of action in this one too, and more violent than I expected. But the characters are phenomenal, and I can't wait for the next one.
