cornflakegirrrl 's review for:
Us Dark Few
by Alexis Patton
The premise of the book is Khalani is a prisoner underground after the world collapsed. She falls for a hot guard who teaches her how to survive.
The writing in this was very simplistic, as was the plot. I read it because the author is attending an event I am also attending and I wanted to know more about their writing. I love dystopian fiction but the love story was undercooked; the relationships between Khalani and the other prisoners was, too; and though there were several opportunities for narrative tension, those moments often fell flat. I would not overall recommend this novel.
