Just okay, but with potential. There were a lot of great ideas, but the execution was not there. The pacing was bad. Maybe it would have read better if I had read her other series as they seem a little inter connected? I love domestic alien farms plus coupled with slow burn seems a nice read, but I did not connect with the characters. It didn’t feel like it went anywhere. I did like how consistently grumpy Riz was, but it didn’t feel like the romance was building. The heroine was definitely in the supporting role for his past trauma even though it wasn’t a heavy feeling book. By the time they got together I just wanted to be done with it. The writing was decent, but could use a lot of work too. The animals were cute though. I did like the ending so I might try another book, but I’m not in a rush.
