Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass by Meg Medina

4.0

A pretty solid bullying story with a strong voice and interesting characters. Pretty emotional with a lot of great female characters as well. If I had to give one MINOR quibble, it's that the author's Queens felt a bit dated. Like someone that had grown up in Queens quite some time ago. The fact that the main character doesn't really ride subways (she's off of the 7 line, it seems like, which has been voted the nicest/cleanest train in the city before). I don't know anyone who grew up in Queens, in the areas that she mentions, that wasn't on the subway all the time.
