The beginning of this was really good, but the middle felt somewhat repetitive and slow, while the ending felt incredibly rushed. I liked the way this book explored being trans and neurodivergent and how hard that can be as a child who has abusive parents that don't really understand them, but I was a bit uncomfortable with the way J's crush on her friend was portrayed, and I felt like the way J's parents suddenly changed their ways at the end of the book after a single meaningful conversation didn't feel realistic at all. All in all, I feel a bit conflicted about this book, so a 3-star rating feels right.
