This is truly one of the most gorgeous books I've ever read. I love magical realism, and the way it was used in this book to explore the nuances and attitudes of the Indian-American community was so so clever. A lot of times when Indian authors write about desi people in America, it reeks of stereotypes and pandering, but this book turns the stereotype of the high-achieving child of Indian immigrants on its head. I also really liked how cathartic the ending was. This book is my Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri.
