Football player Cooper doesn't really want to participate in the charity bachelor auction, so he arranges for Violet, his best friend's sister, to "buy" him. This ends up with them being mistaken for boyfriend and girlfriend. People see him as more stable with a significant other, and dating a football player is great for business at her hair salon, so they decide to keep up the charade -- until it stops being a charade.
I love a good fake romance novel, and this one is okay. There's minimal conflict with everyone. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it never did. I think the book would have been more interesting with more conflict. But, on the good side, Cooper and Violet have great chemistry, and their growing relationship is wonderful. I just wish a bit more had happened in the book.
