3.75

Like a 3.75 maybe? A compelling start to a new series, but unlike PJO the main pov is split between 14 and 12 year old siblings, with a frame device of this being an audio record of their adventure (I read a physical copy, but maybe it's charming as an audiobook). I am less familiar with Egyptian mythology than Greek but I appreciate the incorporation of conflicting mythologies (even within their own canon) into the world.

Because we are America-centered, I wondered if the Bass Pro Shops pyramid in Memphis, TN would show up and sure enough, except because this is 2010 it's before that deal was made so it's still an abandoned arena lol.

I like the idea of magic users that aren't necessarily demigods who still interact with divinity. I'm behind by a week in the read along but onwards!
