Kings & Queens of East Africa by Sylviane A. Diouf

2.5

i know the book is very brief and the author had to make choices of what to highlight, but the fact that Somalia is not even mentioned here, with it's rich and important history, not even in passing is absolutely wild to me. and the praising of Ethiopia while leaving out how it often co-operated with European colonizers against other Africans is deeply dissapointing, which makes me wonder which other narratives were told in a similar purposeful incomplete way.
