The Archie Wedding: Will You Marry Me by Michael E. Uslan

4.0

This was a treat to revisit, after reading it when it originally came out! I grew up reading Archie comics and they’ll always have a place in my heart.

This volume finally answers the question of the futuristic “what-if?” where Archie finally picks who he wants to be with. I will admit, as someone slowly edging up on the age where he felt the need to make decisions it kinda jarred me as when I first read this I was a naive teen! It takes a lot of commitment to marry someone, way more than I thought as a youth.

One of the things I always adored about Archie is how Betty and Veronica remain friends even when both liking the same guy. It would be so easy for them to just loathe each other in a girl-on-girl hate fest but it’s not like that. It’s why I’ve never been able to be firmly on either team in specific!

I like that in both hypotheticals, they all end up happy in the end. Life moves on, things get better, and we learn a lot along the way.
