The Ruined
by Renée Ahdieh
"The Ruined" proved to be a letdown, particularly with its concluding chapter, leaving me dissatisfied and questioning the overall journey. The finale failed to meet the heightened expectations set by its predecessors, and rather than providing closure, it left crucial plotlines hanging without resolution. As someone who once held affection for the central character, Celine, I found her development in the concluding chapters to be jarring and unconvincing, leading to a complete disconnection from a character I had formerly admired. Ultimately, the lackluster ending and unresolved narrative elements left me disappointed and unable to appreciate what should have been a satisfying culmination to the series.
