Blacktop Wasteland by S.A. Cosby

4.5

*TRIGGER WARNINGS:Graphic scenes, illegal activity, drug usage, racism, etc*
Let’s talk about Mr. Beauregard Montage! He’s a mechanic (business owner), son, and a father. After facing financial hardships, he agrees to become involved with assisting on an inside job. The man offering it has betrayed him one time. Should he have given him a second change? Unfortunately, things go downhill from there. He slowly starts fighting with his own demons. His wife, Kia and their two sons lives are put at risk. In order to protect them, he puts an end to some situations. In the end, he realizes that he’s just like his father in many aspects. Will he ever be willing to change? Or…will he risk losing his family?

Cosby made sure this book had you on edge and constantly turning the pages. Also, it was very descriptive; almost felt as if I were watching a movie. I can’t wait to check out Razorblade Tears also written by him.
