When a book starts off with a girl who has lived on a commune confessing to having the hots for a boy in the same commune who could potentially be related to her (Free love, no real indication or parentage), you know it's going to be a fun and bizarre trip.

This book was an incredibly easy read. The pacing works really well and there's always character development or interesting interactions keeping the story moving along. It's also refreshing to see a book centred on YA characters being queer in a very religious town but there not being any real homophobia as a plot point.

I also enjoyed the 17 year old main characters behaving like realistic 17 year olds that are trying hard to achieve their dreams but are also impulsive and making some bad decisions along the way. A very enjoyable read!
