Absolutely stunning read, I think that it's one of the few books I have actually been relaxed while reading since I wasn't expecting or going to stumble into a big plot twist or tragic event, just interactions and humanity at its finest.

Definitely think I should read more by Becky Chambers, and I absolutely adore the world and characters she created in this.

2024 reread
I have been having an absolutely awful time, I've been so anxious and stressed I am physically unwell and I'm crying and panicking at the drop of a hat while feeling like I'll throw up. It's all been too much, and I haven't known what to do with myself other than try to treat myself gently in the face of all my responsibilities and troubles. Anyways, I ended up deciding to pick this up and reread it and what a perfect decision that was.

I cried through large parts of this, it's just absolutely delightful and I wish I had more books like it. Hopeful sci-fi is just chefs kiss and Becky Chambers does it so well.
