Dancing After TEN by Vivian Chong, Georgia Webber

4.0

A very singular graphic novel about experiencing a medical catastrophe and the process of building a good life afterwards. This book contained some of the most raw, emotional autoniographical comics I've ever seen. The author composed parts of the book while loosing her sight, and the frantic rage she experienced comes across vividly. While I expected to learn a lot about the author's medical experiences, I was more surprised about the relationships portrayed. This is not a narrative where friends step up and go the distance to help someone in need. It's more a story of profound disappointment and loneliness, a parallel to the physical loss the author experiences.
