The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

5.0

I thought The Night Circus was my favourite book by Erin Morgenstern, but The Starless Sea has pretty much topped it.

A fantastical, mystical and utterly magical tale. Morgenstern weaves a story from the themes of childhood and fairy tales told by others that are passed down in generations. The Starless Sea is literally a labyrinth of mythical tales and reading this felt like I was discovering a whole host of fairy tales for myself.

Not only was it a perfect cosy seasonal read, but just like Zachary going down the rabbit hole to a Harbour... I felt like I was going down a magical hole and discovering a whole fictional new world. Each part of the book was perfection and even the ending was a version of how I hoped it would be!

Honestly LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!! If you loved her debut, and even stories like The Golden Compass and Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell, then you’ll love this!
