A Christmas to Remember
by Jenny Hale
This was a really sweet Christmas story about a nanny and the family for whom she helps create a memorable Christmas. Adam, a divorced dad of twins, is a workaholic. His kids don’t have much of a relationship with him. Carrie, their nanny just for the holidays, is like a modern-day Mary Poppins who wants to help Adam see how much joy his children can bring to his life if he could only spend more time with them.
I liked reading about the fun activities she does with the children but I loved when we get a peek into her feelings for Adam, especially as he slowly opens up to her. This book isn’t heavy on the romance. Carrie grows and learns about herself and Adam’s family and his relationship with his children is the center of the story. But there’s a little Christmas romance intertwined as well.
Jenny Hale is a master at details. The decor, the cold weather, the food...as a reader you get to experience the complete Christmas season through her words. It’s a sweet and simple story with the perfect happily ever after. This book will leave you smiling and wishing for more Christmas joy.
