This was another miss for me by this author. It was a light, easy read, but the characters just didn't click for me. Similar to Meet Me at the Lake, it's another miscommunication trope that includes cheating, which I just can't get behind. I know Percy wasn't exactly a homewrecker, but that was kind of the vibe, which is a plot line I hate. Their tumultuous young love will-they-won’t-they was understandable, and honestly relatable, but their adult back-and-forth was annoying and immature. And the “plot twist” toward the end? Get out of here with that whole plot line. It ruined it for me. It didn't even happen to me and I viscerally felt the guilt. Not sure how their relationship would ever realistically recover from it.
