I think this book was just too... teenage-existential crisis for me? It was that cringey and fake-deep personality that plagued tumblr when I was a pre-teen/teenage. Which everyone was obsessed with John Green during that time, so I guess it makes sense. 

Also, hot take:
I think the group should have found Margo dead at the end of the book. I'm not normally one for killing off love interests to make a book sad, but I think it would have been impactful enough to warrant the death. I'm not a writer, so I lack the ability to put my reasoning in to words, but hey, I'm not on trial.
