I think this is hands-down one of the best fantasy books I‘ve ever read. I loved the characters, I loved the world-building, I loved the plot, and I especially loved the writing.

The book is about a prince, who is trying to solve a crime, and one of his servants who helps him with it. At first, they don‘t get along very well, but they slowly start to like each other and become friends.

It is set in a world that is not very modern in technology. But what I loved is the fact that it was a progressive world, with a woman ruling the kingdom, for example, and where heterosexuality wasn‘t seen as the norm. I also really liked the mental health representation.

All in all, this was a book that I could not put down and definitely one of my highlights of this year.
