So this fucking thing took me 6 months to read. Why? Because there is a 500 page flashback (the book is 800 pages) and roughly half of that flashback is arduous as all hell and I could barely read 10 pages in a row without falling asleep. In the space it took me to read this novel, I read about a dozen other books.
I would have given up had it not been for the fact this is part of a series I really love. However, there are some great moments in the novel and that sort of made up for the couple hundred pages of shit. What were you thinking King? You couldn't even blame it on booze or pills, because it was written in the 90s and you actually wrote all your best stuff off your head.
