Holy heart wrenching…I picked up this book because my daughter has a friend named Sadie…..Little did I know what I was getting myself into.

This is a raw, emotional, and incredibly dark book. I am greatful that with Summers’ writing, you know the abuse is there but it’s kept off the pages. The book is written in the back and forth style. One aspect is Sadie, a broken girl who is on the hunt for her sister’s killer..the other, a radio host named West who is trying to unravel the story of a now missing Sadie.

It’s a work of fiction and yet….it’s so incredibly real. If you decide to read this, just know you may need some extra time to process it. This book will stay with you.

“It’s about the lengths we go to protect the ones we love….and the high price we pay when we can’t.”

“And Mattie…clinging to those words until they pushed her into the passenger’s side of a truck driven by a stranger who would go on to kill her.”
