Vampires, Hearts, & Other Dead Things by Margie Fuston

I have not uncontrollably sobbed this much while reading a book in who knows how long. The way this book portrayed grief was just so well done and I would almost put this on my all time favorite books for that alone. That being said I do feel like the book fell flat a lot in the middle for me, specifically with a lot of the stuff involving the challenges for Nicholas/Nicholas specifically, and that did bring the book down some. That being said if you want a heart wrenching book about grief, absolutely pick this up. A fun paranormal story for the Halloween season? Try another.
