Midnight in Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World's Greatest Nuclear Disaster by Adam Higginbotham

5.0

I really enjoyed reading this! The audiobook was really nice and the narrator was great in my opinion. I never learned about this disaster (I only heard about it online when posts on Tumblr and such would bring it up when I was in late high school/college). As someone who loves science and math, the sections giving a quick rundown on how nuclear fission and fusion work was really great and actually reminded me about a paper I wrote in high school ON nuclear fission in the Atom Bomb!
This book honestly reminded me to read more science books, and it was a really fun audiobook to have while working my closing shifts at work. It's crazy that this actually happened, and how things happened afterward to try and fix it (and even how the town is free to visit now, even for just short periods of time)
