I really liked this slow burn!
It was really refreshing to read a FMC who was emotionally mature and showed why she gave poor behavior the benefit of the doubt, while still having a lot of spark and not being a doormat.
Also, she had manners! She thanked people! And when they did a good thing while also doing a less-good thing, she acknowledged the less-good thing while still saying thank you for the good thing. That was so nice to read. (Ugh, FMCs in other books who go into rages after having their lives saved BLEAH.)
