Sometimes, I’m in the mood for a sweeping love story or a romcom fully focused on the two main characters. But, I absolutely ADORED that this one wasn’t just a love story between guy and girl. It was also about love between friends, family, and even learning to truly love & accept yourself. This book carries so much depth. When a book moves you to tears, you know it’s an excellent story that will stick with you for a very long time. I could relate to the main female character Minnie in that for much of her life, she struggles with self-worth & really just finding her place in this world. I’ve come a long way in more recent years, but it’s still something I’m working on. So this just definitely hit home with me, and I found myself wanting to reach through the pages & give Minnie a big hug..for the both of us. Her best friend Leila is also a wonderful character..everyone should have a friend like her.

Another thing that this author did really well in this book was talk about the hard things: The main male character Quinn’s mom suffers from crippling anxiety, and her experiences were so accurately & sensitively described, in my opinion. The author also normalizes therapy!! Mental health is so vitally important, and this in and of itself resonated with me as well, as I am FINALLY going to be receiving therapy/counseling for the first time since my college years.

Bottom line: Read this book! I have a feeling you won’t be disappointed! A super easy 5-star rating for me!
