All Systems Red by Martha Wells

I'm pleased to have stumbled on another fun science fiction series.  The narrator is a SecUnit, which is basically a corporate security guard for a group of surveyors on an unknown planet. But, being some kind of organic/robotic hybrid with built in guns it calls itself 'Murderbot', and it's a very interesting character. This was a short novel, I blasted through it quickly and though I'd have liked more background on some of the things in the book I'm pleased that there look to be a load of others following it, so hopefully plenty of time for the created universe to be fleshed out. As ever with science fiction my usual idioms seem wrong, what's 'fleshed out' when you are part robot? Anyway, I'm excited to read more of the series.
