Sunshine by Robin McKinley
Did not finish book. Stopped at 52%.
The book had potential but there were WAY too many rambly exposition dumps. SO much boring stuff in between the good parts.
Also, I was kind of turned off by the scene where Constantine healed the cut on Sunshine’s breast … I found it very unsettling and …. rapey… He didn’t explain any of what he was doing to her, just told her to lie down on the bed and then—as she’s literally sobbing her eyes out—goes and frickin lies on top of her, presses their breasts together, and then presses their mouths together…
I just, I dunno… I was only really reading the book for the Constantine parts and so after that I got kinda turned off.

Minor: Sexual assault
This wasn't intended by the author to be a sexual assault, but I feel like to someone who’s sensitive to those things it could still be triggering, so dropping the warning:
There's this scene where the male lead does this healing ritual with the female lead. Without explaining anything to her about what he's going to do, he instructs her to lie down on her bed, and then he gets on top of her and presses their mouths and bodies together--all while she's sobbing her eyes out. Personally I found it very unsettling.
